Wolf of Wall Street
One of those memorable Dollarsandart signing moments yesterday – meeting Jordan Belfort, whose memoir The Wolf of Wall Street was turned into a film by Martin Scorsese.
He expects to earn more this year than he made at his peak as a stockbroker, allowing him to repay the victims of his fraud.
“I’ll make this year more than I ever made in my best year as a broker,” Belfort told the 700 strong 10 annual Arabian Business forum in Dubai “My goal is to make north of $US100 million ($107.2 million) so I am paying back everyone this year.”
Belfort, a motivational speaker, will use his earnings from a 45-city speaking tour in the US to repay about $US50 million to investors.
He also shared with me plans to appear on Oprah as part of his U.S tour – either way, the man has bundles of energy, happily signing the $1, $2 & AED 100 notes.
He loved the fact he was presented with a $2 bill aswell & went on around the 9.30a.m to share his sales wisdom over a 90 minute, no-nonsense sales 101 session.
Meeting Jordan, depicted below by Leonardo Dicaprio certainly opened the mind as to the pitfalls of greed of chasing the often elusive $, shown here in an ironically ‘honest’ trailer – count the bleeps – lol :-
Onwards & upwards – let’s see where this collaboration takes us as there’s a good chance the original will feature in the 2015 Dubai Dollar Project – LEGEND$.
