It’s a great honour to be the Arts & Culture Ambassador for Fit for Business, encouraged to add a bit of dollarsandart colour to this tremendously effective platform :-
ABOUT CLUB FIT FOR BUSINESS
Fit For Business is a private online business club built on sporting values. They are an exclusive, dynamic, innovative club which has a strong entrepreneurial focus. Designed with the old London style of sports business clubs in mind but with a very modern twist, Club Fit For Business was dreamt up in Dubai in 2013. The Club is now a virtual business club for entrepreneurs, SME owners and business people who share a passion for sport. We replicate the atmosphere you will get in any traditional sports club and formalise many of the links and business that has been in these clubs on a global scale. At the same time they are ripping up the rule book in the way that traditional business is done and always seek ways to engage every demographic in their membership. Business is done on a level playing field.
As it’s members only to access the Arts & Culture section in fit For Business here’s what their message looked like welcoming me aboard in May 2014 :-
‘Welcome to the Club Fit For Business, Arts and Culture page. It’s important during our busy schedules to take time out, take a step back and appreciate the finer things in life. That book you keep meaning to read, the art gallery you keep meaning to visit, that course you keep meaning to sign up for and that motivational you tube clip you missed – even better, simply just being, rather than just doing. That’s easier said than done during such busy, information overloaded times coming at us from all angles. Please treat this section as somewhere to put your feet up and take a step back.’
& my welcome back :-
Here is our welcome note from Jim Wheat, Fit For Business Ambassador and resident artist.
Are you feeling comfortable? Then we’ll…..Where was I? Ah Yes, the Arts have a complex relationship with society, like many of us do with people close to us – rarely straight forward, is it? My aim therefore, is to simplify Art & Culture sharing snippets of wisdom, timeless philosophy in various forms and dollops of food for thought as I go. I’ll be showcasing the journey of dollarsandart from my own first – hand experiences as an artist & writer aiming to engage and inspire along the way to make Art & Culture more accessible & make you think as your dance of life continues, no doubt unfolding as it should, right?
‘If you hear a voice within you say ‘you cannot paint’ then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced’ – Vincent Van Gogh
Enjoy the ride!

AP McCoy collaboration thanks to Fit for Business
n March 2014, Fit for Business invited me to showcase a couple of dollarsandart originals in the presence of horse racing legend, A.P McCoy on the eve of the Dubai World Cup, the world’s most expensive horse race. It was a real honour and he obliged by signing dollars and dirhams ready for a planned collaboration towards the end of 2014.
ACQUIRING INTERGALACTIC$ ORIGINAL
In late April 2014, at an event featuring Rugby legend Victor Ubogu, Fit for Business acquired Number 20 of The INTERGALACTIC$ – $TAR WAR$ LIGHT, featuring YODA – one of the most popular selling prints during the 2014 Dubai Dollar Project.
As rugby legend Victor looks on it puts the size of this work into perspective, let alone the collectors items that lie behind the frame :-
Did you spot the ‘Bounty’ – as in the chocolate and as in SKYWALKER?
Well, on May 4th 2014, Star Wars Day, known to most thesedays – Fit for Business started a ‘ Find a home for Yoda’ – offering someone in the Dubai community to find a home for Yoda and to hang this original work of art. This helps the dollarsandart vision of ‘making art more accessible’ become a reality.
So, let’s find a home for Yoda shall we – someone in Dubai must want him!
So watch this space – where will Yoda end up we wonder? Find out soon, we will!
